VO5 vs John Freda
18:37:00If there's something that I openly hate in life, its frizzy hair, it taunts me pretty much all the time. It doesn't help with the fact that I live in the UK, meaning unpredictable weather and a randomly rainy summer (what the hell is going on guys?).
For some time, I've been trying and testing new ways to help my hair look reasonably tamed and I'm writing this post today to review two products, where one works and one does not! So read on to find out what I recommend and what I think is a waste of your hard-earned cash..
VO5 Smoothly does it heat protective serum
This little product is a serum that claims to tame fly ways and help calm frizz, you apply this to wet hair and blow dry your desired style. When I fist used this product last year, I thought that it was okay, but wouldn't try it again because my frizz wasn't fully tamed. It wasn;t until my boyfriend started using it (he has dry hair - so he used this on his hair when dry as a way to grease his hair up a little) in a different way to the instructions, when I realised maybe this was the way forward?
I no longer use leave-in serum when my hair is wet, I blow dry and straighten my hair, then I apply the VO5 serum to my ends and a little on the mid section. I've found that this is by far the best way to tame any fly-aways and frizzy ends, it makes me hair feel and look healthier, as I'm adding moisture to my ends, they no longer look tired and weak!

John Freda Frizz-Ease Miracle Recovery Serum
John Freda is typically known for its Frizz Ease range, although I've tried about 3/4 different Frizz Ease products, I really don't understand how they're really sought after. I feel that they don't work, and the recovery serum that I tried made my hair very greasy, but if I use a smaller amount, I don't notice any difference at all. For the price, you only get a small amount of product that doesn't last long if you wash your hair every day (like me), so this product is not really for me at all.

Lesson Learned...
I think that the main lesson I've learned when looking for frizz fighting hair products, is that leave-in serums and oils only make the problem worse. It's best to find a product you can use once your styling is complete and the hair is dry.
What are your frizz-fighting techniques?
