A couple of weekend's ago I decided to checkout Birmingham's new restaurant; Rub Smokehouse & Bar. When entering Rub, I felt it was designed really cool and hip, with traffic lights and cool artwork. The only thing that I disliked about the layout was the cramped space, we sat close to others and it was a tight squeeze. This is kind of a turn off in most cases because I feel that when you go out for a meal, you want to spend time with the people you are with, whether you want a private convo or simply your own personal space un-invaded.  

As I'm vegetarian, I am limited with choices, I opted for the chilli bean dish with nachos, dirty rice and sour cream sauce, I also had a side of sweet potato fries and some ice tea. The best part of my main was the rice, the nachos were a little stale tasting and the chilli wasn't the best I have had. As for the sweet potato fries, they were quite nice, the ice tea was on point too!

Would I go there again? No!
