Things to do in torremolinos

Torremolinos is a great place to explore, with its close proximity to Malaga - you can rest easy knowing its only a short hop on the train and then you're in the center of an amazing shopping district. Read on to learn more about Torremolinos and how you can spend you time there!
Pretty Culture
Casa De Los Navajas, dedicated to the cultivation of Sugar Cane, this residential building is two-levelled and houses residents, you can also view the inside of the building, sadly I was out of time to check inside and it's only open from strict times of the day and week. I believe it's closed on Monday and the other weekdays you can visit from around 11 am until 1 pm, it's open weekends too. The small fee of 1,50 Euro per person is worth it!
A late summer adventure
I visited Spain at the beginning of October for some late summer sun. It was a good choice, although the weather was unpredictable each day, it was still warm every day. Some days were really good to relax on the beach. The beaches in Torremolinos were a little different to what I had expected. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to see so many fag buds buried in the the sand, a lot of people smoke on the beach and personally, this was very uninviting. I've never experienced it before and I just thought "how disgusting, to smoke on a natural beach with the fresh air - so unhealthy and toxic". If you were to get a sun bed on the beach you will probably pay between 4-5 Euro per bed, which I thought was quite expensive!
Taste of Torremolinos
There are so many food options in Torremolinos, you'll find it hard to walk on a street and not find a cafe, bar or restaurant! Paella, pizza, toasted sandwiches and Irish bars are very popular in Torremolinos, with almost everywhere offering these on their menu. If you love Burger King and Costa, you can find comfort in knowing that these two places are very popular in Spain and are located everywhere!
One thing I would love to mention is that when in Spain, you must try their coffee. It's so tasty and quite strong, definitely a morning wake up potion! (this little cafe is a Ben & Jerry's Cafe serving fresh ice cream in cones and tubs as well as lunch favourites - you can find this on the Torremolinos beach strip)
I tried a really tasty vegetarian risotto with a mojito at Panam Bar, located in the center of torremolinos, you can find them on facebook here.
Go shopping
By far the best places to shop is in the middle of Torremolinos. Calle San Miguel is a wonderful place of winding old streets with market stools full of colourful merchandise ready to fall in love with. Tacky tourist gifts, fashionable outlets, jewellery quarters, phone accessories and modern retail stores are all present here. You can easily spend the entire day scooping through the streets, with alleys and roads heading in all kinds of directions.
Have you ever been to Spain, or would you love to go?
